Then and Now

I think just a little more reminiscing is in store.

I really don't enjoy cooking that much. It requires spending too much time in the house!

So, the thought of growing herbs to cook with seemed a dull thing for me. However, much to my surprise.......most all of the cooking herbs have healthy benefits too!

If you'll go back to my home page, http://grow-use-herbs.blogspot.com/, you'll see I couldn't wait to plant something in those raised beds. That's me! Just do it!

Just take a look at some of these facts I found about about a few of them I planted:

Fennel --Fennel is a great source for potassium, Vitamin C and Fiber.  The fiber will decrease your cholesterol level and hence assist the potassium to help lower your blood pressure. Who knew! http://fennelfriday.com/health-benefits-of-fennel/

 Parsley:

Mints -- I bought different flavors with the bright idea of making my on tea. Haven't done that one yet. Did you know there are hundreds of varieties of Mint? Mint relieves headache pain, helps digestion, and relieves congestion to name a few.

I bought books:

I started to absorb information like a sponge. Seems it's easy to read and take notes. Love those sticky notes. It's the application that brought everything to a sudden stand still.

I was heading in the direction of  medicinal herbs, with the side benefit of using them to cook with. If I ever decided to.

Do you have a favorite direction of study/doing when it comes to Herbs?
The hard part came next.........
